General notes:
Robert Gibson Jr was the owner of Robert Gibson & Son (Printers) of Glasgow, known for publishing educational works worldwide. Robert married Agnes (Nan) Hendrie Craig, and the couple were the parents of Jean, Margaret, Sheila and Robert Gordon. The family lived at Rowardennan on Neilston Road in Barrhead for many years. Nan's sister Eliza Craig and brother James Craig were aunt and uncle to the Gibson children. Margaret died of scarlet fever, aged 11, in 1933, and her family kept many of her belongings as a reminder of her short but happy life. They form the basis of this collection.
