Scottish Animal Products, whose main products at this time were Kennomeat and Kattomeat, were taken over in 1964 by Spillers Ltd. Prior to this they had been a subsidiary of Robert Wilson & Sons Ltd. In 1998, Spillers was bought by Nestlé and became a part of Nestlé Purina Pet Care. In 2004, the factory at Barrhead was closed.
