General notes:
Of the two bridges shown in this photos, one is still used for the Neilston Line from Glasgow Central. The other bridge was a connecting line via Clarkston, Busby and East Kilbride to Hamilton, from the Lanarkshire coalfields to Ardrossan harbour. The Hamilton area had a large yard for sorting out the coal traffic, which was then forwarded via various routes.
