General notes:
A feature of the Avro Avian aeroplane in the photograph was its folding wings. King Henry's Knowe is a field near to Mearns Castle in Newton Mearns.The aircraft pictured is an Avro 594 Avian III which was the same model that Amelia Earhart owned. Fairweather’s aircraft came into service on 12th Sep 1927. He was the fourth owner so that would date the photographs sometime between then and 20th Dec 1929.
