General notes:
About 1910, the Caledonian Motor Car Service operated a motor bus between Clarkston and Eaglesham and also on a route to Cathcart Station. This took over from the horse bus which had plied this route. Later in the 1920s various private bus companies were operating. The Rankin brothers ran a service from East Kilbride via Busby and Clarkston which was taken over by the Midland Company in 1926.
