The Eglinton Arms was originally a coaching Inn. During the late 19th century, this was where horse buses left Eaglesham every morning at 8am taking people to the train station at Clarkston. Sometimes the horses got ‘fagged out' at Moorburn Brae or Bell Craig and passengers had to get out and walk.
