The horse is Blyth. The machinery is a raking machine and Tumlin Tam. It left a swathe. In picture 1. Agnes Steel 2. James Willin 3. Tom Weir, ploughman. Boy is Archie, aged 9 - a boy could earn a penny for ruck to trample the hay. In picture are the Quiles (small bundles of hay). Pick-up balers started in the 1950's.
