General notes:
EEastwood Golf Club was officially opened in 1892 in Orchard Park. The clubhouse which was near to Giffnock Quarries surprisingly housed the explosives for the quarries! Naturally this caused fear amongst many members who left to form a club at Pollok in 1893. In 1932 the Eastwood club introduced playing competitions in partnerships of three players. In 1936, Mactaggart and Mickel bought the club land for £40,000 and build 716 houses. The club moved to open country on the Fenwick Moor.A detailed description of the photograph is available for perusal at Giffnock Heritage Centre.
