General notes:
The log book was recorded as a tribute to the success achieved by Barrhead, Neilston and Uplawmoor during 'wings for victory' week in 1943. The target to be raised was £100,000 but £154,000 was actually raised representing the cost of an aircraft. The log book recorded the flights of a Halifax bomber with a bomb load of 1300 lbs. Squadron Leader MacDonald captained a crew of 7. Flights were recorded between 17th August and 20th December 1943. The last entry reads 'Since taking off nothing further has been heard of the aircraft or crew. It is therefore presumed missing'
