General notes:
Toft Works was owned at this time by Messrs. Wallace & Co. Ltd. who also owned Netherplace Works. Tofts Works were demolised in 1930 and were on a site now circled by Lambie Crescent and Rodger Avenue. Tofts Cottage also mentioned in the inventory still stands. The inventory was taken for the purposes of fire insurance by F.S. Entwistle & Co, valuers, fire loss assessors and auctioneers, Manchester.
