The Fair Queen in this picture is one E. Wallace. The names of several other ladies and girls in the picture are supplied. In the early part of the eighteenth century, the August Fair in Eaglesham was the main event of the year. The Fair was revived in 1961 after a long absence and now takes place in May every second year.
