General notes:
Bystone House was owned by Mr and Mrs McFarlane, who were connected to the McFarlane Lang biscuit company. Bob Jeans was the head gardener, and from 1958, Harry Grant was the chauffeur. For two days every summer, the gardens at Bystone were opened to the public.
