General notes:
Busby House was originally built in 1796. The commission to remodel the house was given to the architect, Alexander 'Greek' Thomson, by Joseph C. Wakefield, the houseowner and the owner of the printworks. This window, with its impressive square columns and decorated capitals, looked out from the library. Greek Thomson used the same design a year later at Holmwood House. The house was also noted for its ornamental plaster work. The dining room represented day and the drawing room was night. The house was demolished 1969 and replaced by flats.
