Fyfe Diack and John Lambie decided to go into business together while working at Anderson's Garage at Newton Mearns. Diack's father gave his money to buy a piece of ground at Netherlee and Lambie repaid his share of the outlay. Diack and Lambie's own garage business began on the site in 1925.
