From the letters, it appears that Margaret was a trainee/pupil teacher at Thornliebank School and was trying to obtain a post in Glasgow. The letters were written by Rev. John Charleson, minister at Thornliebank Parish Church, Susan Halliday, Infant Mistress, Thornliebank School, Eliza Hunter, Head Mistress, Thornliebank School and James S. Connor, Head Master, Thornliebank School. In 1901, Margaret married James Ferguson in Thornliebank and then moved to Bristol, where they lived until returning to Glasgow in 1905/06.
