General notes:
These photos show the monument to Neilston-born engineer John Robertson, who designed the engine for the Comet steamship, the first vessel in Europe to sail a successful commercial service. This monument was erected in Neilston in 1912 to mark the centenary of the Comet's launch. It originally stood next to the Glen Halls, but was moved to Pig Square at the centre of the village some years later. Two of the photos were taken in 2012, after the monument had been cleaned.
