General notes:
Neilston-born engineer John Robertson was buried in the Southern Necropolis, Glasgow, in 1868. During the centenary year of the launch of the Comet steamship in 1912, a monument was erected at his grave by the Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders in Scotland.
