General notes:
Margaret Gibson of Barrhead died of scarlet fever at Darnley Hospital on 11 January 1933, aged eleven and a half years old. This heartfelt letter from her father requested that the family's thanks were passed on to the medical and nursing staff who looked after her: 'it was obvious that no sacrifice of time, labour, convenience, and perhaps health, was too great for everybody connected with Darnley Hospital, to make on behalf of their little patient ... The Committee should be very proud of, and the public very thankful for, such a Staff and such an Institution'.
