The Scott family at the baker's shop in Newton Mearns possibly about 1882. James Scott is to the left and his wife Jeannie is at the door. They young man to the right is probably the John Scott (born 1856) who emigrated to New Zealand in 1882 and the small child is possibly Jim Scott (born 1880). John Scott emigrated to Dunedin, New Zealand in 1882 and founded the engineering firm of J & A P Scott in 1913. The firm as Scott Technology, an international engineering operation, celebrated its centennial in 2013 and a book was published.
