Held at Cartsbridge Park on Saturday 16th August, the children's Peace Gala celebrated the allied victory with a procession through Busby and Clarkston. At Cartsbridge Park, cakes and buns were eaten and games and races were arranged. The Busby and Clarkston Ratepayers Association raised £120 for the occasion. The children in the image are as follows: Eric Ianson - cowboy, Herbert Ianson - sun, Mabel Smith - Brittania, Peggy Carslaw - France, Muriel McRobbie, Italy, Peggy Orr - USA, George Rosen - native American Indian, Lizzie Brooks, Lizzie Dorrans, Cathie Brown & Pringle Joiner - Geisha girls.
