General notes:
This was one of the oldest buildings on Glasgow Road. it was sold in 1948 by Agnes Price to Peter Watson, who in a career spanning almost 60 years, owned several shops in the town. Peter's daughter Ellen married Canadian Bob Bennett and from then until it changed hands in 1969, it was known as Bennett's. This area was called Bridgebar and on the other side of the road was a group of houses known as the 'Printer's Raw'.
