General notes:
About 1910, the Caledonian Motor Car Service operated a motor bus between Clarkston and Eaglesham and also on a route to Cathcart Station. This took over from the horse bus which had plied this route. Later in the 1920s various private bus companies were operating. The Rankin brothers ran a service from East Kilbride via Busby and Clarkston which was taken over by the Midland Company in 1926. The bus in the photograph was said to be the first Eaglesham bus. A sign at the top of the bus confirms the route as being between Clarkston and Eaglesham. Mr. Walker, the Stationmaster, is standing beside the vehicle bonnet.
