General notes:
The Ferguson Tractor was an early diesel engine, economical and dependable. The first ones ran on petrol, then paraffin, which was much more difficult to use because the engine had to be at a high temperature to turn it. The Ferguson was one of the first tractors to make a great difference in farming. It had a hydraulic system which allowed implements to be raised and lowered at will by the operator.
