Libraries Collection

A collection of documents, photographs and ephemera from the library service dating back to 1957. Events documented include: opening of Duff Memorial Buildings, 10th December 1959; opening of Clarkston Library, 12th November 1960; opening of the Montgomerie Halls in Eaglesham, 27th September 1963; opening of Mearns Library, 1973; opening of Giffnock Library, 1982, architect's proposals for Giffnock Library, 1979, refurbishments of Giffnock Library, 1992 and 1999. Documents include: a file on the Clarkston Record Club; plans of library layouts and correspondence. Photographs include: interior views of Giffnock Library (Rhuallan House) 1957; Eaglesham Library, 1963; Giffnock Library (Station Road)1982; Mearns Library, 1973. Ephemera includes: invitations and programmes for library events; newspaper clippings.
