This notebook lists details for fifty-five girls who were members of the Barrhead Girls' Training Corps during World War II. It gives names, addresses, schools attended, place of work and general interests. The GTC was set up in 1942 as one of a number of organisations for girls to join which were the equivalents of the Army Cadet Force, Air Training Corps and Sea Cadets Corps for boys. Names of the individuals contained in the notebook have been added to the Gibson Names Index.
