These items belonged to Miss Rae Mackinlay, whose father, Dr. Mackinlay, was a very well-known and well-respected doctor in Mearns at the beginning of the 20th century. Dr. Mackinlay took over the practice in 1880, and by 1891 he had married and had built "Firwood", an impressive house on Eaglesham Road which still stands today. Most of the photographs in the collection show Rae, her brother Rob and her mother and father. However, there are some older photographs of people we can't identify, but who were probably other relations.
