Annie's marriage certificate of 1919 shows that she was working as a china painter. Through our Museum Artefacts project in 2011, we discovered that local people in Eaglesham still owned items that she had painted, including decorative plates and a tea set. These objects were photographed at the Heritage Centre in August 2011, along with a painting by her father, John E. Maguire, which is also in private ownership. The initials A.L. are for her married name, Annie Lawson.
